Techsophist
Yep, that’s the Writer’s Digest prompt. Back to work tomorrow, so I’ll try to use up the spare mental energy while I can. Oh! and post something besides poetry so I can catch up for Project 365 and on a deeper level, show that I notice other things during April. The poem will be up (I hope) before midnight.
So We Decided to Boldly Go
My children are grown and gone and
the thing that gets me most is that I
can’t go to the movies alone. I never had to before
and I ask you,
yes, you the judgmental one in the front row
for this poem if you’ve done it. Ah. I thought so.
So my children grew up seeing sci-fi movies
and I learned far too much
about the Olson twins and all things Disney.
I just found out yesterday that Radio Disney
is actually broadcast over the air.
So there you go.
I’m out of the loop. Still,
I want to see the new Star Trek Movie
and may have to take desperate measures
like getting out,
boldly going where no over-fifty girl-geek
has gone before, meeting people my own age,
making friends and hearing my own advice
fall from the lips of children.

So We Decided to [Blank]
